There is nothing I love more than reading a good book, especially when I am on holidays overseas. However as soon as I get back I seem to neglect my love for books and spend more time doing other things, like scrolling through my phone before bed or other distractions, not allowing myself to chill out and switch off. Aren’t we all guilty of it?

In 2019 I set myself a goal, to read a book a month. For the month of January, I have achieved that goal and read several books that I cannot wait to share with you all. Below are my top three reads you need to check out this summer!

Some people are into mystery reads or autobiographies, whereas I love a sexy erotic read, as I’ve previously mentioned on my blog before ha-ha. This sexy read portrays the lives of four women Karly, Leia, Hannah & Sharna. Within the first few pages, there is a sexy little encounter between Karly and a surfer, who knows how to get what she wants. I knew this was going to be a great read and loved getting to know each lady. Sharna hands down would have to be my favourite character, as she is such a strong women whose life gets turned upside down. I couldn’t get myself to put this book down, and tried my best to delay reading it, as I did not want it to end. I even had to stop myself from reading the last page! These women have more in common than most and you will constantly be shocked when reading it. If you love a sexy erotic read grab yourself a glass of wine or the girls’ favourite Pomtini you won’t be disappointed! I can’t wait for the next book to come out!! So much unresolved drama I need answers to!

Ya’ll know how much I admire Roxy Jacenko, I was so eager to get my hands on this book.  I was filled with excitement when I received my pre-order, which was signed by the queen herself! I could not believe my eyes! I finished this book in a day! The book is basically a guide to all things social media, business and building your brand. The book has five chapters going into detail about career, business, PR, social media and life in general. When I uploaded that I was reading this book via my Instagram story so many of you wanted me to share what was in the social media chapter! Don’t skip chapters ladies. Trust me a soon as you start reading it, you won’t be able to put it down.

I picked up quite a few tips for my blog and also for my ‘everyday life’ and just find Roxy so inspiring. She has achieved so much and is the ultimate #girlboss!

A paragraph I thought I would share with you all.

Take my word for it, if you’re successful, you’re going to have haters, It’s inevitable! Whether it’s a family member who doesn’t believe in your ideas or journalist who just seems to really have it in for you (hmm that sounds awfully familiar), there will always be people who want to rain on your parade. But no matter how many people want you to fail, you need to use it as motivation to do even better.

Another RJ book you’re all thinking. Yep this one has been sitting on my bookshelf for months. Published in 2014, so a little late to the Jazzy Lou series. This was the perfect read for a day at the beach. I can’t wait to read Strickly Confidential and The Rumour Mill.

Reading is very therapeutic and such a great way to unwind at the end of the day. I can’t wait to end my busy workday in bed reading for at least half hour. What are you currently reading?

  1. I like the sexy erotic books too! I’ll definitely have to try out Behind Closed Doors. I am currently in the middle of two books. One is The Thief by JR Ward (part of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series) and Leviathan for my book club.

  2. I see you are a Roxy fan. Good for you. I’ve been doing a lot more reading in the last couple of years and I’m glad. For a while, social media hijacked my reading time.

  3. Wonderful titles! I love reading and finding some recommendation for new books. Roxy’s little black book of tips and tricks is already on my Bookdepository wish-list.

  4. Looks like I will have to check out some of the Roxy books. They sound like they would have a lot of useful and interesting information about blogging and social media management.
