Tool Kit For Fabulous Hair

Let’s talk hair ladies

In all honestly I really don’t put much effort into how my hair looks during the week for work. I brush it, tie it up and walk out the door. Trust me this is not a great look but I don’t want to put too much heat on my hair as I am afraid of breakage. My hair has come a long way in terms of strength and breakage so I want to keep it looking its best.

I really only style my hair once a week, unless I have an event I need to go to then I will make a little more effort. But besides that, I am very basic when it comes to my hair.

So, I thought I would put together a blog post on keeping your hair fabulous cause ya know that’s what we bloggers do!

Find a fabulous hairdresser

I think before any product or styling tips can be given a hairdresser that listens and achieves what you’re actually asking for is a must! I have no problem with spending money on my hair, but when I have spent $400+ only to get something I did not ask for it really grinds my gears. I am so thankful to have found a hairdresser who nails my hair colour and cut every time. If you are yet to have found a hairdresser who achieves what you’re after. Keep trying till you find a hairdresser you are happy with. I adore mine!

Hair maintenance

I tend to get my colour done every 5 weeks, but as I am growing my roots out I can stretch it out a little longer. Trims are essential, something I never used to like to do but now that I have short hair, I just can’t stop chopping it! Just ask my hairdresser.

Invest in quality shampoo & conditioner products

I agree the good stuff is higher in price but if you are only washing your hair 1-2 times a week like me then I promise it’s worth it. You know how much I love my products from V&M Lifestyle I use both the balancing shampoo & hydrating shampoo weekly along with the treatment conditioner. If you missed my interview with Victoria check it out here

As my hair is bleached I also use Fudge clean blonde violet toning shampoo every second wash to keep the yellow away. This has been one of the best violet shampoos I have ever tried. It really keeps my hair ash until my next visit to the hairdresser.

I also just received a Christmas gift from Bhave which came in a cute little reusable lunch bag style gift pack. It included their blonde shampoo & conditioner. It also came with a super nova multi-purpose super spray which I have tried in the past (went through two bottles). Great for frizz and detangling. Check out the gift pack here

Treatments

I have two on repeat that I am loving at the moment:

  1. Jamaican Black Castor Oil Masque by SheaMoisture
  2. BC Bonacure Keratin Smooth Perfect Treatment Schwarzkopf

Both make my hair feel amazing and I can really see a difference in my overall health of my hair.

Tools

I love pretty hair brushes, I get sent so many so I have a quick turn over on brushes. (I find brushes can wear out quite quick) my current favs are:

  1. Dessata mini perfect for the hand bag
  2. Balmain my pretty designer comb, its just so pretty to look at ya know #instagramanesthetics
  3. Bhave vent brush

Heat tools

Hair straightener: Currently I am using a hair straighter I’d rather not mention the brand (I don’t love it but it’s currently what I am using since my GHD blew up a million years ago and I have been too cheap to replace it.

Hair curler: As my hair was quite short I had no need for a hair curler so passed it on to a friend, but now as my hair has grown I have been creating curls with the Kurve Pro as I find it’s great for shorter hair. It’s great for getting the bottoms to bounce or create long lasting waves. Shop here

So there you have it! I have just purchased some hair extensions so am about to have some fun creating new looks over the holiday season. Stay tuned for more on that!
